Essie has been caught drinking on duty, and even worse, when challenged by the Hospital Chairman, she was rude to him. He insists that, in order to keep her job, she must visit Matron for a series of harsh punishments, all received naked- hand spanking, caning, birching, and hand-tawsing. Essie has received an OTK hand spanking (Part 1), 12 hard strokes of the cane (Part 2), 18 hard birch strokes (Part 3), and here, in Part 4, she takes 12 strokes of the Lochgelly tawse across her hands. Then she is sent from Matron’s office still naked, to return to the nurse’s quarters.
